Malai Paneer

Cottage cheese in thick creamy gravy

Ingredients

250 GramsCottage Cheese (Paneer)
100 GramsFull Cream
2 MediumFinely Chopped Onions
2 TablespoonTomato Paste
0.5 CupMilk
0.5 CupCooking Oil
1 TeaspoonGarlic Paste
1 TeaspoonGinger Paste
Green Chilly Paste to taste

Dry Spices

1 TeaspoonWhole Cumin Seeds
4 Cloves
1 MediumCinnamon Stick
1 TeaspoonCoriander Powder
1 TeaspoonCumin Powder
1 TeaspoonTurmeric Powder (Haldi)
1 TeaspoonSugar
4 Bay Leaves
Salt to Taste

Garnish

0.5 CupGreen Coriander

 

Method

  1. In a pan heat the oil and add whole cumin seeds when it start crackling add cloves, bay leaves and cinnamon stick. Now add Onions and cook them till they turn golden brown.

  2. Now add garlic, ginger and green chili paste and mix the masala well and cook it for 1 minute. Now add all the dry masalas one by one followed by half cup of water and fry it for another 1 minute.

  3. Now add tomato paste and cook it till the masala leaves the oil now add cream and milk keep stirring it otherwise milk will precipitate. now add Paneer and cook it for 5 minutes.

  4. Now remove it from the flame and put it in a serving dish.

  5. Garnish it with green coriander leaves.

  6. Malai Paneer or Cream cheese goes well with pranthas and chapattis.
