Yam in Yogurt Curry
Yam cooked with tasty spices and yogurt

Ingredients
1 Pound | Yam/Suran |
1 Large | Finely Chopped Onion |
1.5 Cups | Yogurt |
1 Tablespoon | Ginger Paste |
1 Teaspoon | Garlic Paste |
2 Cups | Cooking oil for frying |
Dry Spices
1 Teaspoon | Cumin Seeds/ Zeera |
1 | Pinches of Hing |
1 Teaspoon | Fenugreek Seeds/ Methi Dana |
1 Tablespoon | Coriander Powder |
1 Teaspoon | Garam Masala |
1 Teaspoon | Turmeric Powder/ Haldi |
| Salt To Taste |
Method
Peel and cut Suran in small cubes soak it in boiling salted water for 10 minutes strain it and dry it.
Heat oil in an skillet when it is simmering hot fry yam in it. In a pan take yogurt and add one cup of water and mix it well.
In a pan heat oil and add hing to it then add cumin seeds and fenugreek to it. When they turn light brown add onions. Fry then till it turns brown.
Then add green chillies, ginger and garlic paste to it fry it for another 2-3 minutes then add all the dry spices to it. Fry it for another 2 minutes.
Add half cup of water and cook it for another 1 minute then add yam to it.
Stir it well cook it for another 2-3 minutes at high flame and add yogurt to it mix it well and remove it from the flame garnish it with coriander leaves.
Serve it with parantha or chapatti and rice.
