Tamatar Paneer
Cottage Cheese in a spicy tomato flavored curry

Ingredients
2 Medium | Onions |
2 Medium | Fresh Tomatoes |
2 | Garlic Cloves |
1 Tablespoon | Ginger Paste |
1 Tablespoon | Green Chilly Paste or to taste |
250 Grams | Paneer (Cottage Cheese) cut in triangles or squares |
0.25 Cup | Cooking Oil |
2 Tablespoons | Tomato Paste |
Dry Spices
1 Tablespoon | Cumin Seeds/ Zeera |
1 Tablespoon | Coriander Powder |
1 Teaspoon | Garam Masala |
1 Teaspoon | Cumin Powder |
1 Teaspoon | Turmeric Powder (Haldi) |
| Salt to taste |
Garnish
0.5 Cup | Finely Chopped Coriander leaves |
2 | Slices or diced in rings tomato |
2 Tablespoon | Cream |
Method
Dice onions and make paste in a blender separately. Then dice 4 tomatoes and make paste.
In a cooking pan heat oil and add cumin seeds when started crackling add onion paste. When the color of the paste start changing add green chili paste, garlic paste and ginger paste. Keep Stirring the paste so it should not catch bottom of the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes at medium flame
Now add dry spices one by one and add 1/4 cup of water and mix it well and cook for another 2-3 minutes at medium flame.
Add Tomato Paste made by fresh tomatoes and cook for other 5 minutes and then add ready made tomato paste and cook it on medium flame when the paste starts separating from the paste add 1/2 cup of water and cream ( Optional).
Add diced Cheese and cook for another few minutes and remove it from the flame. Now add coriander leaves and stir it
Now pour in a bowl top it with diced tomatoes and garnish it with cream It can be served with parandas, chapattis or with rice
