Suji Ka Halva

Dense, sweet dessert made from Semolina

Serving 4-6 persons

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

 

Ingredients

1 CupSozzi /Semolina
0.5 CupSugar
4 CupWater
0.5 CupButter or Clarified Butter
0.5 CupShredded Coconut
2 TablespoonsChopped Almonds

 

Method

  1. In a pan heat 5 cup water with half cup of water and boil it.

  2. In a frying pan heat butter and add semolina and roast it at medium flame till flour separates from the butter .There will be fragrance of roasting semolina you can smell it from the far. It will take almost 15-20 minutes to roast it. Also add Chopped almonds to it.

  3. Add hot boiling water and sugar syrup in to it and keep stirring.

  4. Cook it for another 10 minutes at low flame and sheera / halva is ready.

  5. Sprinkle some coconut over it and serve it hot.

Make sure that semolina is roasted properly other wise halva will not be eatable. Do not roast it on high flame will burn the semolina. You can add more sugar . The quantity given above is moderate .
