Moong Palak
Green Gram bean lentil mix with Spinach

Ingredients
1 Cup | Whole Mung Beans/ Sabut Mung |
1 | Bunch Spinach |
1 Large | Finely Chopped Onion |
3 Tablespoons | Tomato Paste |
2 | Finely Chopped Green Chillies |
1 Tablespoon | Garlic Paste |
1 Tablespoon | Ginger Paste |
0.5 Cup | Cooking Oil |
Dry Spices
1 Teaspoon | Cumin Seeds/ Zeera |
1 | Pinch of Hing |
1 Tablespoon | Coriander Powder |
1 Tablespoon | Garam Masala |
1 Teaspoon | Turmeric Powder/ Haldi |
| Salt To Taste |
Method
Clean wash and chop spinach. Clean and wash dal too.
In a pressure cooker add dal, spinach and 6 cups of water and cook it for 10 minutes at high flame.
In a frying pan heat oil and add hing and cumin to it. When cumin turns brown add onions and fry them till they turn golden brown.
Add green chillies, ginger and garlic paste to it. Fry it for 2 minutes and add turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala and salt. Fry it for 1 minute and add tomato paste. Cook it till the masala leaves the oil.
Add this masala to the pressure cooker mix it well cook it for another 3-4 minutes at low flame without lid on.
Serve it with rice or chappati.
