Moong Dal Upma
Thick porridge snack made from Green Gram

Ingredients
1 Cup | Mung Dholli (Yellow) |
1 Cup | Mixed Vegetables (Green Peas, Carrots, Green Beans) |
1 Medium | Finely Chopped Onion |
1 Medium | Diced Fresh Tomatoes |
1 Teaspoon | Ginger Paste |
1 Tablespoon | Green Chilli Finely Chopped |
2 Tablespoons | Cooking Oil |
Dry Spices
1 Teaspoon | Cumin Seeds |
1 Teaspoon | Mustard Seeds |
1 Teaspoon | Sesame Seeds |
8 | Curry Leaves |
1 Teaspoon | Turmeric Powder |
1 Teaspoon | Coriander Powder |
1 Teaspoon | Sugar |
1 Tablespoon | Lemon Juice |
| Salt To Taste |
2 Tablespoons | Finely Chopped Coriander leaves |
Method
Sock Mung Dal For 2 hours or overnight in 2 cups of water. Cook dal for 5 minutes in the same water. Check if dal is soft remove it from the flame. Discard if there is any water in the dal reserve it for latter.
In a frying pan heat oil and add cumin seeds, sesame seeds, and mustard seeds.
When they stars crackling add onions to it and fry them till they turn golden brown. Now add ginger paste and green chillies and fry them too.
Now add washed diced mixed vegetables and cook them for 5 minutes at medium high flame. Now add Turmeric powder and coriander powder, salt and sugar to it. Add 2 table spoon of water reserved from the dal.
Cook it for another 2 minutes and add Mung dal and lemon juice.
Cook it for another 2 minutes.
Garnish it with green coriander and serve it hot.
