Batata Vada
Potato Rolls in Gram flour

Ingredients | Vada Mix | 4 Large | Boiled Potatoes | 1 Medium | Finely Chopped Onion (optional) | 2 | Green Chilli Finely Chopped | 1 Tablespoon | Ginger Paste | 1 Teaspoon | Coriander Powder | 1 Tablespoon | Garam Masala | 1 Tablespoon | Finely Chopped Green Coriander | 2 Teaspoon | Mango Powder or | 1 Tablespoon | Pomegranate powder | 1 Tablespoon | Oil | 1 Tablespoon | Finely Chopped Kari Leaves (Curry Leaves) | 2 Teaspoon | Mustard Seeds | 2 Pinches | Hing | | Salt to Taste |
For Batter1 Tablespoon | Besan (Gram Flour) | 1 Teaspoon | Red Hot Chilli | 3 Cups | Oil to Fry the Vada | | Salt to Taste |
MethodIn a Small Frying pan Heat the oil add hing and mustard seeds to it when its tarts popping add finely chopped Kari leaves to it cook it for 30 seconds and remove it from the flame. Now in a bowl mash potatoes, green chili, coriander powder, garam masala, Finely chopped coriander leaves, kasoori methi, salt to taste, 1 tea spoon of mango powder and mix it well. Add the above made tadka to the potato mix bowl and mix it well and make golf size balls from the mixture and keep them aside In other bowl take besan , red chili powder, 1 tea spoon of mango powder and salt to taste and mix it with water and make batter. Make sure that the batter should not be too runny or too thick. Now Heat oil in an frying pan. Drop a little of batter if it comes up right away that means oil is perfect. Now dip the potato balls in the batter one by one and drop it in to the frying pan .Do not over crowd the frying pan. The flame should be medium high. When they are all done serve them with imly (Tamarind) ki chutney, puddiney (Mint) ki chutney and tea.
